Centenary Finale
On 20th October more than 200 rainbows, brownies, guides, rangers, leaders and Trefoil members joined over half a million members of Girlguiding to reaffirm their Guiding Promise. Everyone present signed a commemorative square for a centenary patchwork quilt. The girls took part in international activities from other countries celebrating their centenary in 2010. Personal special Guiding memories were displayed and have been collected into a scrapbook. Memories ranged from cooking outdoors to a Guide wedding guard of honour, and from walking in the dark to a tall ships adventure. Many thanks to Davenies for letting us use their excellent facilities.
2nd Beaconsfield Brownies Competiton Success
2nd Beaconsfield Brownies were runners up in the Freemasons community service competition “ihelp”. The girls collected and sold second hand books. With the money raised they bought food items to fill gift boxes for elderly neighbours. The girls presented their project to a panel of judges and faced stiff competiton from other youth organisations. They have donated their £750 winnings to our New HQ Fund. Well done girls, and thank you!
Thinking Day
Thank you to everyone who came along and supported us at Thinking Day. We are delighted so many turned out to see our exciting plans for the New Guide Hut and to all the girls who took part – Well done!
Big Thanks
The fundraising is well underway with already £187,000 in the bank and pledged so far, but we still need your help!
